I’m Diana Kristin an Edinburgh based watercolour artist and Teacher at Edinburgh Art Workshop
Hello and welcome I’m Diana Kristin, an Edinburgh-based watercolour artist and teacher.
My work balances two worlds: creating paintings that capture delicate, fleeting moments, and sharing the joy of watercolour through my art classes at Edinburgh Art Workshop.
This site is a place to explore my paintings, follow along with my creative journey, and connect with the classes and exhibitions that shape my practice.
What I’ve been working on…
My most recent exhibition was at the French Institute in Edinburgh April 2025, Called “Between Two Shores”.
I spent most of the start of this year and last year exploring my heritage, being a mixed raced artist. I was born in Norway with a Trinidadian mother and norwegian father, I grew up partially in Norway and the UK - so I had a pretty mixed up cultural life as a kid.
For these series of paintings, I used sea water collected from Stavanger and Trinidad together with watercolour to create a few of my larger pieces and spent some time observing and painting old photographs of my family - including people I’ve never met and memories I’ve forgotten.
If you’re interested in learning to paint with watercolours in Edinburgh, I run in-person classes at the French Institute.
